Maxtrax Kinetic Rope
MAXTRAX Kinetic Recovery Ropes – High-Performance Elastic Power for Safer Recoveries
The MAXTRAX Kinetic Rope is engineered to deliver smooth, controlled energy during 4WD recoveries—providing superior stretch and safer force transfer compared to traditional flat snatch straps. With up to 30% elongation, these ropes reduce shock loads and increase traction to help you recover stuck vehicles with less stress on your gear and passengers.
Designed for the MAXTRAX Recovery System
Each kinetic rope has been purpose-built and tested exclusively within the MAXTRAX Recovery System, ensuring peak performance and safety when used with MAXTRAX-branded gear. This includes the MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle, which is intentionally designed to act as the system’s weakest link—ensuring safe failure in the event of overload.
🔒 Important: You must always use a MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle with the MAXTRAX Kinetic Rope to maintain system integrity and recovery safety. Only connect to properly rated vehicle recovery points.
How to Use the MAXTRAX Kinetic Rope
-
Inspect before each use – check for damage, cuts, burns, frays, or wear.
-
Attach the rope to rated recovery points using a MAXTRAX Fuse Shackle or Core Shackle, or to another MAXTRAX rope or accessory.
-
Use individually or link multiple ropes together using Core Shackles for longer recovery setups.
-
Drape a recovery damper or weighted bag over the rope before tensioning to reduce recoil risk.
-
For best results, pair with MAXTRAX Recovery Boards to ease the recovery process and reduce force.
-
Clear all bystanders and begin recovery slowly, applying minimal momentum.
-
If needed, retry with slightly increased momentum to complete the recovery.

Care & Maintenance
To ensure long-lasting performance and safe operation:
-
Always inspect for damage before and after use.
-
Do not use if the rope is cut, melted, frayed, or missing a visible warning label.
-
Clean after use – rinse with fresh water and air-dry.
-
Store properly in a dry place, ideally inside the MAXTRAX Recovery Kit Bag.
-
Protective sheaths are available for added longevity.
Safety Guidelines
To ensure safe and effective recoveries:
-
The rope’s minimum breaking strength (MBS) should be 2–3x the GVM (gross vehicle mass) of the lighter vehicle involved in recovery.
-
Always use within the complete MAXTRAX Recovery System. Never substitute third-party recovery gear.
-
Recovery dampeners or weighted blankets must be used to reduce recoil risk.
-
Never use the rope for lifting or conventional towing.
-
Avoid using the strap when saturated, as water reduces performance.
-
All passengers must:
-
Exit both vehicles
-
Stand clear and at a safe distance
-
Stay out of the line of tension
-
